The Collective
Originally founded in 2006 there was an idea to organise parties and festivals not to make money out of it, but to help the ones in need. For this reason the Supersane Collective was founded by FadeFX and his friends and as a starting point we had organized a 2days event in a nice outdoor location near Bernhardstal in lower Austria in 2007.
The aim of this event was to raise money for the impaired Simon who was born forced to his wheelchair and depending on the permanent care of his mother. We wanted to raise enough money to send them for a dolphin therapy to Egypt or similar.
Unfortunately, while highly welcomed by the mayor and the folks of Bernhardstal, the event was not so much welcome to the districts police department and the collective was threatened to either cancel the event, or pay unreasonable amounts of money for police efforts which would include measures which would signal everything else than a warm welcome to the guests even before arriving at the venue.
This has forced us back then to cancel the outdoor event and only thanks to Goran, the organizer of the Spirit Base Festival, who was able to provide an indoor location for Saturday, we could at least have the main artist Hujaboy (Isr) who we had to pay anyway if he plays or not and some of the local artists we booked.
This emergency event, while a lot of fun, was far from being a success and thus the Supersane Collective was forced to death. Fortunately we still were able to fundraise a decent amount of money so we could at least help Simon and his mother to pay a good part of the dolphin therapy.
RIP Simon D. you will never be forgotten!
