When I bought myself an LG smart TV I was looking into a way to keep it from spying me, which I found in Pihole, which does Network wide DNS level address filtering based on filterlists. There is a filterlist made specifically for LG smart TVs, this one and some other lists keep my devices add and spy free in my complete network.
This is realized via an old RaspberryPi 2 which I had in a drawer doing nothing than getting older.
